As temperatures drop, our bodies naturally tighten up, making it easier to strain a muscle or aggravate an old injury. The good news? A few small adjustments can help you stay comfortable and active all season long.

1. Warm Up Before You Step Out

Cooler weather means your muscles need a bit more time to prepare. Before you rake leaves, go for a walk, or start a workout, spend 5–10 minutes warming up. Try gentle stretches, arm circles, and light cardio like marching in place to get blood flowing and prevent strain.

2. Layer Up for Comfort and Protection

Muscles stay more flexible when they’re warm. Dress in layers to maintain body temperature and prevent stiffness — especially if you’re active outdoors. Gloves, hats, and moisture-wicking clothing help protect joints and keep you moving freely.
